So Much for Promises!

I cannot believe it's been 6 months since I promised to update my blog! Honestly, WHERE does the time go? And WHERE did my motivation go with it? What can I say? I don't have any of the answers. I will say, obviously, I just wasn't driven to keep blogging for some reason. It's very possible it was stress related. The last year (almost) has been very stressful at work. I am very drained at the end of the day and the last thing I feel like doing is sitting in front of the computer or laptop and pouring my heart out. My family is starting to worry about me (due to the lack of blogging and phone calls) so I figured it was time to pull myself up by my boot straps and GET ON WITH IT!! Or as my BFF always says "Get after it!" LOL!! At any rate...I am not going to "promise" to keep up my blog but I will TRY to do my best at updating more frequently than I have been. :)

So, it's summer 2010!! This year is flying by...every month seems to go faster and faster. Jacob just finished 5th grade and is growing like a weed. He is currently at a "summer camp" being put on at the "Tongass School of Arts & Sciences" and seems to like it pretty well. Course, if he had his way he would be home playing video games all day but I told him that's just not an option. I'm not sure at this point how long he will go to the camp but for right now it seems to be working out. We leave on vacation July 23rd so if I can get coverage until then, it's all good. It's really hard at this age...he's too old for his regular "daycare" but too young to be left home alone all day. Sigh....

I mentioned vacation...yes indeed! Jacob and I are leaving Ketchikan on July 23rd to head to Portland. My baby sister, Crystal, is getting married July 31st...I am excited! Jacob is excited to have another "uncle"...Uncle Johnny!! :) We are south for about 10 days and I can't wait to see everyone. I especially can't wait to get OFF THIS ROCK!!!!

Work is going fairly well for both of us but it seems to be busier and more stressful these days. I guess with "great power" comes "great responsibility"...LOL! Just kidding!! What I should say is the more money you make, the more the responsibility you have and more stress you have to endure. Yep...that about sums it up!! Believe you me...if I had MY way...I think I'd be making espresso at the local coffeehouse making minimum wage by now. :) But alas...we are grown ups and we are trying to buy a house...so working full-time making as much money as possible is my sentence for now. I doubt we'll EVER see retirement at the rate we are going!! (SIGH)

Speaking of which, we finally went to the bank to be pre-approved for a home loan! We found a house we like but it's already been snagged. I am somewhat disappointed but I knew there was already an offer on it so I had a feeling it wasn't meant to be. The search continues! Good things come to those that wait, right? :)

The only other news I can think of that is "blog worthy" is that my brother and his wife are expecting a baby boy!! Little Abby will have a baby brother and I am SO excited for them. I think he is due the end of August. I am so thrilled for them....and he is going to be SO CUTE!! I'll have to post pics of Abby...she's such a little DOLL!! :)

OK...that's good enough for now. Maybe I'll get inspired again soon and post some more. I will try to get pics on here, too. Hopefully it will be a little easier now that we have Windows 7. We'll see!!

Goodnite for now, y'all.......I'm baaaacccccckkkkkkk!!! :) Nan XXX

Hi Nan,

It's great to see an update and hear how things are going. Glad all is well, minus the stress level of course. Your vacation to Portland sounds good ~ always nice to get off the rock. Good chance the weather will be nice at that time. Take care :)
